Our first stop was at a Whataburger with Nascar deco (see pic below)
When we arrived at Papa and Grandma Byrds house Paisley informed me she was going to throw up. Luckily the stomach bug only lasted about 12 hours. Not so lucky were most of the Byrd family members who got sick.

One of the highlights of the trip was our tour of Texas Motor Speedway. It was AWESOME!!!

Wednesday everyone went to the zoo. Very fun! Paisley, Reagan, and Sawyer fought with Todd and Liam on who got to ride in the zoo stroller.

It was an amazing trip. I am so glad I was able to visit with my family and eat yummy Thanksgiving food.

My Day in the Kitchen

So the other day I noticed my peach tree with a lot of fruit on the ground. Then I felt guilty for letting the fruit go to waste, so yesterday I forced myself to go out there and pick peaches. Their were HUNDREDS. I picked about half of the peaches on the tree, the other half I couldn't reach. I had no idea what to do with them all. Cindy say Freezer Jam. So I said OK. I went to the store and got all that I needed to make freezer jam. Cindy also said the jam is a good gift to give people with bread. So I also bought the stuff to make homemade bread. (the bread was easy peasy). The jam not so much. First of all the peaches are messy and take awhile to peel and cut. Then for some weird reason I couldn't read directions for an hour today. I followed the instructions for "cooked" jam not "frozen" jam which calls for a lot less fruit. So I winged the amount of sugar and sure-jel that I was supposed to add. Fun, fun. I guessed we will see how it turns out.

2:30 into our room (still at a 2)

2:40 almost pass out while getting the IV (dehydrated)

3:30 epidural, more pitocin

3:45 doctor brakes my water to get things going, more pitocin

4:00 at a 3, more pitocin

5:00 at 3 1/2, more pitocin

6:00 at a 4, turned me to other side, I start feeling contractions, nurse change

6:15 REALLY feeling contractions so anesthesiologist adds juice to epidural

6:30 Nurse Alyson decides to check me again since I'm in so much pain.

6:34 Nurse Alyson delivers baby Boston with the help of several other nurses.

On April 9th my oldest brother Chris got married. With me being only a few weeks away from having Boston I wasn't able to attend. So sad. But congrats you two, it looks like you two had a wonderful day. I love you Chris and Tisch.

25th Birthday Present

Tuesday was #25 for me. I think with all else going on it still hasn't hit me yet. We got a sitter for the evening. This is the picture Paisley drew for her.

Then dinner and a movie. It was a nice and relaxing date. Chris surprised me with a gift card to Lowe's. We both, but mainly me, have been wanting to do something with our kitchen FOREVER. I wanted to paint or stain the cabinets. Chris just hated the color of the back splash and counter tops, they looked pinkish. Well while wondering in Lowe's not long ago I saw a paint just for counter tops. Its been in the back of my mind since. Well after my b-day dinner, we still had about an hour before the movie so I suggested Lowe's for some wondering and ideas on what to do with my gift card. We looked at several kitchen ideas and both agreed to try the counter top paint first. It was the cheapest idea. So Wednesday I went to work.

Back splash removed. It was A LOT of work.

Big hole in the wall underneath back splash that I had to patch.

Its hard to see in the pictures but after removing the back splash the counter tops looked very pink.

Sanded, then painted the back splash the same color as the rest of the kitchen. I had left over paint so no $$ spent.

Now to the counter tops. This is the stuff I'm talking about. Lowe's had some crazy expensive stuff that had specks of little rocks and all by the same company but we just went with this because of the price. $20.00 dollars baby.

Not bad for a $20 project. I think it makes the wood look a lot better. Next on my list is to spray paint the hinges black. What do you think???

Things that make me HAPPY

Life holds so many simple blessings, each day bringing its own individual wonder.

This past week has been hard for me, uncomfortable, body aches, just bluh. I feel bad because Chris tries to make me feel better but I was just miserable and if you are like me when you don't feel good you aren't in a good mood. Every little thing wasn't going my way or seemed a bigger problem then it was, aren't hormones awesome...Anyways I was being a BIG BUTTHEAD. What on earth do I really have the right to complain about? Yes, I'm pregnant and uncomfortable but as far as I know I'm having a healthy baby boy in less then 8 weeks. No, we don't make a lot of money but we have everything we need, and help from our families if we need it. Food, a beautiful house, good health, JOBS, all things some people would give a lot to have. We are very blessed and sometimes I need a kick in the behind to realize it. So, any who, the weather is amazing outside today, I got to sleep in (Paisley missed preschool because of it), and we are going to have a wonderful day just hanging out together with the girls cracking me up with their antics. I'm very blessed to have all that I do, so here are some of my blessings. ENJOY!!!

Sawyer also has one of the most expressive faces. I have to take about ten pictures before I get one where she isn't making a weird face.

Well these are my most precious processions. I would be lost without them and I am so thankful to have them in my life.

Surprise Baby Shower

So today at work we were celebrating my b-day early since I don't work on Tuesday. To my shock the lovely ladies made it a birthday/babyshower party. It was such a nice surprise after this week of being so uncomfortable (32 weeks =miserable). We had goodwood (yummy), fruit to dip in chocolate, and a delicious lemon drink. Thanks girlies it was WONDERFUL.

Before we get to Boston's room here is the girls room that they now share. It took several weeks but now Sawyer will fall asleep in there and Paisley doesn't complain that Sawyer keeps waking her up. Still needs work but its getting there.

When Paisley walked out of her room this morning I noticed there was marker lines on her face. I asked her why she did that. She didn't know what I was referring to and went to inspect her face. Apparently Sawyer in the middle of the night decided to use a marker on herself (her stomach and hands) and on Paisley's face. When she got up I said "no, no". She just laughed at me.

Any pregnant woman will tell you about the crazy dreams she will have while expecting. With my previous two baby's the dreams were pretty normal just more detailed and I remembered them the next morning with ease. Well I don't know if it is because this one is a boy or just different but my dreams have been PSYCHO. WEIRD. DISTURBING. Last night I was dreaming a alien was in my stomach scratching me to get out. Another good one was I was a vampire drinking people blood. I hope poor baby Boston doesn't remember any of this, or he might be a little crazy when he comes out.

So most everyone knows now about our BIG surprise we received on Sept 2 2010. After a few days of waiting for my monthly "gift" to arrive and several nights interrupted with bathroom trips, I decided I better take a at home prego test. Sure enough two lines appeared when I expected one. I called Chris to yell "I told you so". Oh well to late now. Chris is over the moon. Me the more practical one is STRESSED. I can already feel my body changing. Arrrr. We both know its a girl so no need for anyone hoping for a boy. We don't do boys. On a positive note I will be done having baby when I'm 25. Not to bad. a cheap buy we got a while back to fit

into our tiny condo. It started out

I decided since paisley loves playing

Okay, so I promise this room was clean at some point.

I started to move everything into the center of the room

so I could tape the walls, then I remembered to
take a picture. See the blue tape at the base board.

So, boring white walls.

Pink spray paint. I have to buy another can
for a second coat so not complete yet.

This is a wall sticker thingy that I found.

My Poor Hubby

First off this is just a cute picture of the girls.

Then you will see why my husband just shakes

his head at me now every time he comes home

to something new. Paint, new molding, or just

rearranged furniture. I always keep him guessing. ; )

This is Georgie's room. It started out just the

bright green color all over. Then I added the

pink and white stripes at the bottom. It never

sat right with me so I decided to start anew.

I wanted a non-bright green and found one I liked.

I received some of the best paint advice earlier this

week and put it to use. "Find a color swatch you

like, then go with the next color lighter."

I did this and all the way home thought I made a

huge mistake. I didn't want it to be similar to the

old green. Even when I opened the paint can I

know I was going to hate it (too bright). But a wonderful thing

happened. When I put it on the wall I LOVED it.

Its is just a nice calming green.

And it looks great in light or shadow. Yay..
I'm going to accent with pink of course.

It never looked right to me so I decided to

try something new.

All done. I love the idea and it

far to long. I could hear Paisley talking to her

friends (imaginary). So when she comes and gets in bed with me,

I asked what her and her friends were talking about.

She said the barbies were being crazy.

Then she comes back with a basket full of hair.

She said the barbies hair was messy and wanted it cut.

Very seriously I explained that we never play

with scissors or cut things without me.

This is my backyard flower area "thingy". It was a JUNGLE. Random plants and weeds everywhere. So today I tackled half of it.

We are celebrating Georgie's birthday early because Chris will be in Chicago next weekend. So this morning we drove down to Claire's in the mall, during heavy snow fall by the way, and got Paisley's ear pierced. Here are some pics of the interesting experience.

Life As We Know It

Chris: Just returned from Indonesia where he was doing work stuff. Spent $85 on movies alone.
Super excited about Super Bowl Sunday. Go Colts.

Katie(me): Nada. nothing. absolutely no interesting things happening to me.

Paisley: First hair cut while daddy was away. Talking lots more and cute as heck. Turns four at the end of the month. She wants heart shaped pink earrings and to go throw the ball (bowling).

Sawyer: Is becoming a two year old in her attitude. Screams and throws herself to the ground. Good times. But loves to be held which i don't know is a good thing or not.

Things are great though can't complain. We are all healthy and happy. excited for Spring.

My work Christmas Party was last night and we actually got a real babysitter. Not a relative. A cute girl in Primary named Mira come over to watch Paisley and Sawyer. Paisley was so excited to be getting a Baby-Sister. I kept telling her its a Baby-Sitter not Sister. But even when Chris walked in the door Paisley quickly announced that she had a new Baby-Sister. She was already bossing poor Mira around before I left. "Lets watch a movie Baby-Sister." "Come see my room Baby-Sister." I don't think Mira will want to come over again any time soon.

Disneyland 09'

Our Disneyland Trip was Awesome. Chris, Paisley, and I left early in the morning arriving in California in the late Afternoon. The next day with our Tickets in hand we walked to the Happiest Place on Earth. Fantasy Land was our first stop. Peter Pan, Dumbo, and the Tea Cups were favorites. Then we headed over to Big Thunder Mountain. Our brave little Georgie was tall enough so on we went. She survived but didn't want to do it again. Pirates and Splash Mountain were a few others that were one time deals. Chris and Paisley were high on Disney Magic and stayed the whole time. Mommy (me) needed to rest. So I relaxed in the hotel. It was Great. We stayed Three Days and loved every minute of it. Chris is ready to go again.

Living with Ron and Kathy still while waiting for our house to close. With Chris, Paisley, and I having the stomach bug which involved Chris going to the ER, I'm sure the grandparents will be happy to see us go. All the home improvements are done for the most part, but I'm excited to get in there and make it MY home. I finally found a dining table with three chairs for $40. I was so happy. I'm going to reupholster the cushions on the chairs with some green fabric i found at savers not long ago. Paisley new bedding arrived today for her new BIG girl bed. I hope it looks good in the bright green room in the new house. Sawyer reached a major mile stone. Walking. Yes finally. Shes taking about six steps in a row so it won't be long now. Moving is stressful. I'm such a worry wort when it comes to money that even though we'll have a little money in saving I'm freaking out. I think Chris just rolls his eyes now at me. Once we get moved in i'm going to have to blog once a day in order to catch you guys up with pictures. I can't wait.

Our Crazy Life

I haven't blog in for-ev-er. So heres the scope on our lives right now.

*Our house is under contract to close on the 12th or 14th (can't remember).
*The house we want is under contract but we have to do lots of work beforehand in order to get it. (and when I say we, its really means chris and dave). As of right now I don't know when that would close.
*Paisley is on the couch watching Barney, thankful not Monsters Inc. (ten times a day, no kidding)
*Sawyer is asleep : )
*I'm drinking a Diet Coke so I'm very HAPPY.
*Hubby is probably drinking Coke so he is HAPPY.
*Thrifty Decor Chic and the Nie Nie Dialogues are my have to go to site. Love em'.
*Chewy is still fat and sitting on my lap making my legs fall asleep.
*Paisley just asked for juice and now is crying because I said "in a sec." (oh happy day).
* We are hoping to go to Disneyland sometime this year.
*I excited about the holidays coming up.

Did I miss anything??? Probably...Important keynotes.

6th Anniversary

I made Chris's gift this year. 101 Reason Why I Love you. Thanks Cindy for the idea. I think it turned out great. I also made dinner. BBQ sandwiches, chips, and green beans. Fancy, fancy. We were going to make smores but we couldn't get the grill working, so we went to Arctic Circle for ice cream instead. Yummmm. I ate my chocolate banana shake so fast i got a major brain freeze. Perfect!!!

So all kids go through a phase when they repeat what you do and say. Well Paisley is at that stage and I have already tried to watch what I say around her after several memorable phrases such as..

(me) "Stupid Truck, watch out."
(paisley)"Stupid Truck."

(me) "Holy Crap that hurt"
(paisley) "Holy Crap."

Then the other day paisley was in her bedroom playing when I heard "Katie ...Katie come here please. I need help."

I am now call "Katie" half the time instead of "mom".

Well our little Disney Girl is now four months old. Her hair is still sticking strait up. Chris's hair did that until it got heavy enough to fell over. She is such a cutie. Paisley thinks every baby is "Baby Sawyer" now. We love to listen to Sawyer laugh, its one of the greatest sounds in the world. I think I might nickname her "roo" for rooster. Thats what her hair reminds me of.

It was the best Halloween so far. Chris as a vampire. Me a witch, Paisley was little Snow White, and Sawyer a Puppy. It was great. Paisley was a little trooper, never complaining. Even when her bucket was full and heavy, she wouldn't let Daddy take it. I will always remember what a fun time we had.

Well our little one is nine weeks old now. I still see a lot of Paisley in her, but she is starting to get her own look. Her mohawk is still kicking. I hope it will go away eventually. She is a keeper.
